Online consultations
Secure video appointments with Kim Armstrong, Registered Nurse and Independent Prescriber. They last the same 30 to 45 minutes as an in-person consultation, and cost the same.
Scope
What can and cannot be done by video
Where an in-person appointment is needed, you will be told before you book and before you pay.
Can be done online
- Initial consultations for most services
- Medical weight management assessment and monthly reviews
- Medical skincare assessment and homecare planning
- Prescribing consultations and medication reviews, where clinically appropriate
- Follow-up and review appointments
- Discussing whether a treatment is suitable before travelling to a clinic
Needs to be in person
- All treatments. Thread vein treatment cannot be carried out remotely
- Assessments where examination or measurement is materially more reliable in person
- Anything where Kim judges that a remote assessment would not be adequate

Step by step
How an online appointment works
- 1
Book
A time that suits you, in the same way as an in-person appointment.
- 2
Complete a secure health questionnaire
In advance, so the appointment is spent in discussion rather than on form-filling.
- 3
Join the video call
Using the link sent to you. There is nothing to install, and the platform is encrypted.
- 4
Your consultation
30 to 45 minutes for a first appointment — the same time as in clinic, not a shortened remote version.
- 5
Your plan
Sent to you in writing afterwards.
- 6
Follow-up
Online or in person, whichever suits where you are.
Preparing
What you will need
None of it is unusual, but the private space and the natural light are the two people most often forget.
- A device with a camera and microphone
- A phone is fine.
- A reasonable internet connection
- If it drops, Kim will call you back.
- A private space
- Somewhere you can speak freely about your health without being overheard.
- Good natural light
- If your skin or a treatment area needs to be seen, this matters more than the camera.
- A list of your medicines
- Current medicines and supplements, including anything bought over the counter.
- Recent test results
- Any that are relevant, if you have them to hand.
A consultation and a prescription are not the same thing. You can be assessed and advised anywhere; the medication still has to reach a UK address.

Geography
Where we can see you
Online consultations are available UK-wide and internationally, including for patients based in Spain.
Where medication forms part of your plan, it is dispensed by our UK pharmacy partner, which supplies UK addresses and does not ship to Spain or elsewhere overseas. If you are based outside the UK you can be assessed and advised, but the medication cannot be sent to you.
Prescribing and dispensing rules also differ by country and depend on your residency status. Kim will tell you what applies to your situation before you book, rather than after you have paid.

Before you book
Common questions
Is an online consultation as thorough as an in-person one?
For assessment, planning, review and most prescribing decisions, yes. Where examination, measurement or treatment is needed, an in-person appointment is required, and Kim will tell you which applies to you before you book.
Can Kim prescribe after an online consultation?
Where it is clinically appropriate and safe, yes. A prescription is never guaranteed, and some decisions require an in-person assessment.
What platform do you use?
A secure, encrypted video platform. You will receive a link, and there is nothing to install.
Do I need to be in the UK?
No. Online consultations are available internationally, including in Spain. Medication is a separate matter: it is dispensed by our UK pharmacy partner to UK addresses only, so a plan that depends on medication cannot be supplied to you outside the UK. Kim will explain what applies to you.
Is the consultation recorded?
Our recording policy is to be confirmed.
What happens if my connection drops?
Kim will call you back. If the appointment cannot be completed, it is rescheduled at no extra charge.
Can I have a consultation online and treatment in clinic?
Yes. This is a common arrangement, particularly for patients travelling to London or Marbella for treatment.
How long is an online appointment?
The same as in person, typically 30 to 45 minutes for a first consultation.
