Where to start
Initial consultation
A private clinician-led assessment of your goals, medical history and treatment options. You do not have to arrive knowing which treatment to ask for — working that out is what the appointment is for.

The appointment
What happens at your first appointment
Kim will listen before making any recommendation. You will not be shown a treatment menu, and you will not be asked to choose from a list of packages.
She will ask what has been troubling you — which is not always the same as the treatment you booked to discuss, and the gap between the two is often the most useful thing in the appointment.
She will then take a full medical history, review every medicine and supplement you take, ask what you have tried before and how you responded, and where relevant examine the area concerned.
Appointments last 30 to 45 minutes and are not rushed. If the honest answer is that this clinic cannot help you, you will be told that within the appointment rather than after you have paid for a course.
Preparing
What to bring, and what not to worry about
Bring these if you can
- A list of your current medicines and supplements, including anything bought over the counter
- Any relevant recent test results
- Details of previous treatments and how you responded
- Any questions you want answered
- Another person, if you would like to bring someone
You do not need to
- Arrive knowing which treatment to ask for
- Bring a referral from anyone
- Decide anything on the day
- Prepare for a sales conversation — there is not one
The outcome
What you will leave with
All of it, in every case — including the cases where the recommendation is that you do not go ahead.
- A clear answer
- On whether treatment is likely to help you at all.
- A written plan
- Where one is appropriate, setting out what is recommended and why.
- The total expected cost
- For the whole course or programme, not only the cost of the first appointment.
- A realistic timeframe
- Including how long before you see a change.
- The expected outcome
- Including its limits, stated rather than implied.
- The risks and side effects
- In full, before you decide.
- The alternatives
- Including not having treatment. Where treatment is not appropriate for you, Kim will explain the reason and, where possible, suggest what would be more suitable.
You will be given a plan and a price, and then left to decide. There is no follow-up sales call.
